
Leadership and Coaching for Systems Change (cohort 1)

This training is designed to leverage the impact district and school teams have as they implement equitable, multi-level systems of supports in behavior (PBIS), reading, and/or math. Class activities include presentation of theory, reading, discussion, group and partner work, modeling and demonstration, reflection, and practice and feedback. Sessions include the opportunity to coach peers, observe peer coaches, receive coaching from peers, and give and receive feedback. Participants will enroll a coaching client and conduct a minimum of four coaching sessions outside of the class.
Outcomes
- Lead and coach both individuals and teams for sustainable change and improved student learning in an equitable, multi-level system of supports
- Align leadership teams to provide systemic, systematic implementation of an equitable, multi-level system of supports
- Establish coaching as the capstone of a systemic and systematic professional development plan to implement the district’s and school’s equitable, multi-level system of supports
- Use a continuum of leadership and coaching strategies in response to teacher identity and knowledge, skills and needs, stages of change implementation, and stages of team development
- Create positive district and school cultures that guarantee high levels of learning for all students
Participant expectations:
- Have an in-depth understanding of Wisconsin’s Framework for RtI
- Actively implementing or preparing to implement an EMLSS/ Wisconsin’s Framework for RTI
- Be committed to utilizing a coaching model as part of the district RtI Framework
